  • About the Earmoulds

    Dear Kristen,

Last Friday, you broke your right earmould. Auntie Belle said that you were pulling at it until it broke. So Daddy went to NUH on Monday to try to get it fixed, but it was broken so badly that we had to make new earmoulds. So sad, Auntie Tze Ling (The audiologist who always did your earmoulds) was not there because she went to study. Thus, we had someone new helping us make the new earmoulds for you.

Unfortunately, I think she was new and not so experienced. When we went on Tuesday, a total of 6 earmoulds were made and only one was successful! Which was a left earmould. It was such a nightmare... because you hated having anyone touching your right ear after awhile. So we went again on Thursday (this morning) and got the right earmould done in 2 tries. It had to be deep enough so that the amplification was good and the earmould had to be airtight. Phew... Daddy and I were so tired after making the earmoulds because we had to think of ways to entertain and distract you. We ended up singing songs and playing with bubbles! That worked beautifully.

Mummy is so looking forward to the weekend. She's had quite a tiring week this week. I went back only at 10+ from work today because of a deadline to meet (plus a strong desire to NOT have to go back to work during the weekend or stay late on a Friday).

So while Mummy stayed at work, Daddy went back home to take care of you. Yah, Daddy is great huh. He's able to bathe and put you to sleep all by himself. He was so tired too that by the time Mummy was at Raffles MRT, he had fallen asleep and did not see Mummy calling his handphone! He was deep asleep when Mummy got home too... No matter how she disturbed him and spoke to him... All he answered was mmmms and uhhs.

You were fast asleep too in your little cot! I wonder when you would be moving into a bed? Not anytime soon I guess, you enjoy your cot alot. You like to lean against the sides of the cot. Which is very much like me! I love to lean against the sides of the wall (one side of Mummy's bed is against the wall) when I sleep! And the cot also provides a great place for us to put you when we don't want you running around the room and touching things that you should not be touching.

I was thinking of getting you a set of chair and tables though. You looked very comfortable and like a "big girl" at the chair and table set at the hospital. Shall go to Ikea to look at chairs and tables... The only problem is where to put them.

Oh well. That's it for Mummy's entry today.

    Love,
    Mummy
