  • Loving the Phone

    Dear Kristen,

You simply love 'talking' on the phone! You would pick up the phone and just start babbling and even laughing. It's so funny... Everyone gets very amused. It does not matter whether it's the house phone, the wireless phone.. or the handphone.. or the wired phone... or a toy phone. You would put it to your ear, start walking around and talking to your imaginary caller.

Here's a video of you talking on the phone... but ending up being distracted by the wire.

  • FLOAT!

    Dear Kristen,

Look what Ipoh Koon bought from you all the way from Switzerland! You LOOOOOVEEE sitting inside it... (outside the pool). Hehe.

  • 14 Months Old

    Dear Kristen,

Here are the new things you are able to do when you turned 14 months!

    • Say "Horse" when you see a horse picture/horse shape/horse figurine/horse toy. Hehe... Sounds abit more like "herrssee". And you love to exaggerate the SsSss...
    • This was about 13 - 14 months when you knew this, when we asked you to laugh you would go "Ha.. Ha"
    • Fake a jump when we tell you to jump. You would tip-toe really quick to make it look like you were jumping.
    • Fake a yawn, when we tell you to yawn. You would open your mouth really wide. This was more like when you were 13 - 14 months old as well
    • Blowwww... You know how to blow wind out of your mouth now
    • When asked how does the fish swim, you would blow and swoop your hand like a fish (or a bird)
    • Know where your ear is when we ask you about your ear
    • Say "Maaaa...." but you still can't say Mama.. or Mummy.. :(
    • Babble angrily out complaints when you don't get your way or when anyone (especially Daddy) restrains you ... Something like "buh-buh-buh-maaa-maaa-daaa-daa-duhhh"
    • Open cupboards (I think this was around 13 - 14 months as well) especially the cupboard with the mirror in Grandma's room. You would open the cupboard and admire yourself in the mirror. Vainpot.

  • Wakeboard World Cup

    Dear Kristen,

Here were photos from last weekend at the Wakeboard World Cup held at Bedok Reservoir. It was a perfect day to walk and stroll by the reservoir... and see handsome ang mohs perform tricks on the water! Pity Daddy wasn't there...

Anyway, we had fun and met Mummy's colleague there also. Again, in front of people who are not familiar to you, you refuse to perform any of your cute little 'stunts'. All you did was frown and concentrate on the pretty Aunties' faces...

  • Long Weekend

    Dear Kristen,

We had an activity-filled weekend! Phew... Mummy is exhausted.

On Saturday, we went to the Zoo for the first time. Then, in the afternoon, Mummy & Daddy went to support Uncle Matthew at his competition (which Mummy and Daddy felt went reeeeally well!). You went to Chocho's house for dinner! Chocho specially cooked for you chicken porridge. Mmm.. Yum.

On Sunday, we were supposed to go to the supermarket in the morning. But, by the time we were almost at the supermarket, you got too cranky and Mummy had to give you milk in the car and you fell asleep. You did get to go up and see Lucky at Ipoh Kim's house where we dropped by on the way to the supermarket. In the afternoon, we went to Bedok Reservoir to see the Wakeboarding World Cup. Daddy was not around though because he had to go and study. Then, when we got back, we went swimming since you were so sweaty anyway. We then went for dinner at Ikea.... You were knocked out by 9.30pm. Hehe.

Here's the collage of some of the photos taken at the zoo where we went to with Granny and Grandpa Vincent.

  • Milk Bottle Problem...

    Dear Kristen,

On Monday, we went to Tony Roma's for dinner to celebrate Uncle Kelvin's birthday. While waiting for the food to arrive, we went to see the fishes in the aquarium and pond just outside of Tony Roma's. You got to try a couple of french fries, a little mushroom soup and some bread. You liked them alot! Yummy... We (Daddy, Mummy and YOU!) walked back from Tony Roma's to the carpark about two Suntec towers away (to Starbucks!) Yes... You walked so much and you were so happy running about by yourself. It took a long time to get to the car too.

When we got back, the strangest thing happened. While trying to put you to bed with your night-time milk, you bit your bottle and started pushing the bottle away. Thinking that you wanted to play, we let you roll around the bed and when there was absolutely no sign of sleepiness, we brought you out to the living room to play a little till you got tired. When you looked sleepy, we brought you back to the bedroom to give you milk. However, you drank a little then pushed it away and started wailing. Mummy and Daddy were so confused. Finally, Daddy just carried you with you hugging your bolster until you fell asleep. Thinking it was probably the food we fed you during dinner that caused you to be full we didn't think much about it.

On Tuesday morning, you woke up and we tried to give you milk again but you refused it! At that point Mummy suspected something was wrong and was feeling pretty guilty about giving you yummy food the night before. Finally, Mummy told Auntie Belle to just try to feed you the milk by a cup or spoon. You ate your solids fine... and still continued rejecting the bottle... but so it turns out, you didn't mind as much drinking your milk by a cup!

On Tuesday night, Daddy suggested giving you the milk from this Nike bottle that we had because Grandpa Vincent said that it was possibly your gums that were hurting. And lo and behold, you drank from it. So it was not the milk that you were rejecting, but the milk bottle! So for the next day and on Thursday, you drank your milk from the Nike bottle.

Then, tonight, Mummy decided to follow Grandma's suggestion about using a teat with a bigger hole because she said you were probably frustrated by your current teat (it's a Y-teat that releases liquid only when sucked and moves really slowly). The new teat is a L teat that has milk that just flows out. At first you refused it, but when Daddy cheered and clapped each time you tried, you were encouraged and started drinking more from the bottle. In fact, you enjoyed it so much you did not want to let go even when the bottle was empty.

Phew~ For a while there, I thought we'd end up being the cuckoo parents who gives their baby milk in a Nike sports water bottle....

  • Trip to Raffles City

    Dear Kristen,

Today we went to Raffles City to shop and walk around. I think we did much more walking around than shopping.

You refused to be carried... and when you walked, you swung your arms up and down so that we could not hold your hands. Even when we did get to hold your hands, you refused to walk in the direction we needed to go. Gosh... I think for that 4 hours we were out... we spent only maybe 30% of it actually shopping!

We took a train there (Daddy was not around to drive us there) from Pasir Ris and you behaved pretty well on the train. I think the main reason why you behaved well was that you were drinking your milk for most part of the journey. Once there, you had a whale of a time walking around, exploring, going to mirrors in the shops to admire yourself....

The nice staff at Fox Baby happily entertained you while Mummy chose for you the cutest sweater ever. Haha... It's got flare sleeves! Probably go for dinner out soon so that you can wear your fancy sweater! We also bought you this really sweet western-top that is sooooooooooooooooo cute. Yes, during those hours out, we bought only 3 items and they were all for you.

Finally went back by taxi because you were getting very cranky and grouchy... I think all the walking around tired you out. You fell asleep by 8.30 tonight... About an hour ahead of the usual time that you go to bed.

    Love,
    Mummy
